eCommerce Performance Equation

Maximize Conversion + Minimize Abandonment = Sales

Usability research is the first step in the design/optimization process to provide the necessary insights to improve sales.

eStores need to be designed to facilitate and encourage transactions. Consumer-centric design is the only way to ensure usability. It is a structured methodology that involves users throughout all stages of development. A few examples of consumer-centric research methodology are:

:: SiteSURF Benchmark™
Building a Better Website by Learning from Competitors

To develop great design ideas, benchmark your website against competitors. Benchmarking shows what resonates or does not resonate with consumers, giving you a strategic advantage. Figure out the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats by benchmarking. Redesign websites the intelligent way.

:: SiteSURF Task™
Delivering Fluid User Experiences

Study Objective::
SiteSURF™ Task puts your website prototype in the hands of your customers in order to gain their direct feedback on how it is performing and if there is a need to redesign completely or make minor improvements.

With SiteSURF™ Task you can evaluate many scenarios:

  • Evaluate the process of performing a task and determine if any significant improvements are required. For example, ask the user to search for content on your website and evaluate the ease of finding it.
  • Evaluate different features, designs, colors, and messaging to determine which prototype resonates most with site visitors.
  • Assign a task, such as completing a registration process and highlight bottlenecks that prevent completion.

The Research Methodology::
SiteSURF™ Task usability research is conducted with existing visitors to the website or your target segment from the online general population. Participants are asked to perform pre-set tasks and then provide their insights with regards to the tasks performed.

The Value Prop::
SiteSURF™ Task provides valuable insights to optimize features which will have a positive effect on key website performance.

:: Other Usability Research Services:

Quick Perception Test::
Quick Perception Test is a usability testing service that offers three different ways of testing: “Classic,” “Compare,” and “Sentiment”:

  • Classic shows and then hides a screenshot of your page and asks users to recall elements that they remember.
  • Compare shows two screenshots and asks users which they prefer.
  • Sentiment shows one page and asks users to pick their favorite and least favorite elements.

User Experience Video::
User Experience Video offers a more traditional approach to usability testing. You’ll receive a video of the users’ screens as they navigate your site, along with a running audio commentary of their responses. You will also get a written report detailing the areas and functions that the users liked and disliked and anything that may have prompted them to leave the site. See users interacting with your site in their natural environment.
